Istanbul To Nemrut And Gobekli Tepe Tour 3 Day tour (Option 3 B)
Istanbul to Mount Nemrut 3 day tour B is a variation of the Istanbul to mount Nemrut and Gobekli Tepe 3 day tour is jam packed full of activities throughout the 3 days. Your tour will begin in Istanbul where you will be picked up and flown to southeastern Turkey where upon arrival you will visit the famous Mount Nemrut. The second day is dedicated to the beautiful riverside town of Halfeti. The third day will highlight Sanliurfa City, ancient Harran and lastly the amazing archaeological site of Gobekli Tepe after which you will catch an evening flight headed back for Istanbul.
Mt. Nemrut tours are available from April to end of November. December to march is not possible due weather/snow conditions.

Istanbul accommodation pick up, domestic flight
Today you will transfer to Istanbul airport where you will take a domestic flight to Adiyaman, and begin your tour to Mount Nemrut.
Mount Nemrut Tour
When you exit the airport you will be taken to begin your tour of the beautiful and hallowed landscape. As you make your way to Mount Nemrut you will visit the Black Bird Burial Mound, known as ‘Karakus Tumulusu’. You will pass the ancient Roman Bridge at Cendere, this Roman bridge was well built and today can still be used. The pair of castles, one old known as Arsemia and the new castle at Kahta.
Mount Nemrut Sunset
From this high point, you will watch the sunset across the valleys slowly sinking below the horizon. You will head to the summit of Mount Nemrut where you will explore the ancient ruins that are protected by being made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can see the Tomb of King Antiochus with dozens of statues surround his final resting place, reliefs depict history including one of the oldest known images of human shaking hands.
Drive to accomodation
Once the sun has finally set you will make your way to Adiyaman or Kahta to check-in and stay overnight.
Today on your way to Halfeti you will stop by Ataturk Dam which is on your way to the riverside town. From here you will be able to see some amazing views and take plenty of awesome landscape pictures.
Halfeti Ancient City & Boat Cruise
Upon arrival to Halfeti, you will tour the historic town and be toured around the highlights there by boat on a cruise along the ancient Euphrates river.
Kelaynak Bird Sanctuary
After your boat cruise, you will then move on to the Birecik Ibis bird sanctuary in Kelaynak. These birds are a special species of bird endemic to this small area of the world and are very rare.
Sanliurfa City Center
After the bird sanctuary, you will head to Sanliurfa City where you will tour the city center in the evening before heading to your accommodation for the night.
Overnight Sanliurfa City
Today will entail plenty touring many ancient and historic towns and munuments. Amongst them the oldest temples in the world at Gobekli Tepe.
Sanliurfa Historical Bazaar
This is a beautiful ancient city with traditions and history dating back generations with their stories being told in religious texts. The Sanliurfa pool is told the story of God saving Abraham from a jealous king who attempted to throw Abraham into a large fire pit, however, just as he would have started to burn the fire was turned to water and the burning logs turned to fish. Today you can still see fish living in the pool. Nearby is the cave that Abraham was built, today a museum has been erected around for its preservation, visitors still stream to see the simple life his family lived before God sent him out into the world.

Gobekli Tepe is a high hill that has been excavated which revealed deep ruins that date back to different time periods. Only discovered in 1996 it is believed to be a sanctuary as opposed to a settlement, as it was revealed and documented they found the statues, monuments and general building date back ranging between 6,000 and 12,000 years which at the oldest place it 6000 years before the pyramids.
once a prosperous and important city during the era of Mesopotamia with its own history in the Northern part being dated back as far as the 3rd Millennium. As the region passed into the different culture it became a hub for trade routes between the Mediterranean and the Tigris Plains. As time moved on it was a focal point for different battles and wars, which included with being ruled by the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great, the Seleucid Empire, Roman Empire, and the Muslim Arabs. Afterwards you will drive to the airport to catch a flight back to Istanbul.

After your day of touring ancient ruins and cities, you will finally jump on a plane bound for Istanbul where your tour will come to an end.
